Roofing
Full replacement and repair on asphalt, cedar and metal. We rebuild the whole system — deck, ice-and-water shield, flashing, ventilation — not just the top layer.
Our services
Roof, flat roof, deck, chimney, gutters, masonry and siding. Seven trades that all touch the same water problem — and one contractor who's accountable for every joint between them.
Why it matters
The classic Long Island leak lives exactly where trades meet: where the chimney passes through the roof, where the roof dies into a sidewall, where the deck ledger bolts through the siding. Hire four companies and every one of them will tell you it's someone else's joint. Hire one, and there's nobody left to point at.
| What you care about | Four separate contractors | Cape Construction |
|---|---|---|
| Who owns the leak | Each blames the trade above or below them. | One company, one warranty, no argument. |
| Scheduling | Four calendars. The siding crew shows up before the roof is dried in. | Sequenced correctly: roof, flashing, siding, gutters, then hardscape. |
| Cost | Four mobilizations, four dumpsters, four markups. | One mobilization. Bundled work typically saves 10–18%. |
| Flashing details | The interface is nobody's line item — so it gets caulked. | Kick-out, step and counter flashing installed as one system. |
| Your time | You become the general contractor, whether you wanted to or not. | One foreman, one phone number, one written schedule. |
Seven services
Each page below is written for that specific job — real materials, real Long Island price ranges, and the questions homeowners actually ask us on site.
Full replacement and repair on asphalt, cedar and metal. We rebuild the whole system — deck, ice-and-water shield, flashing, ventilation — not just the top layer.
Ponding water, split seams and blistered membranes on rear additions, dormers and porch roofs. EPDM, TPO and modified bitumen with corrected drainage.
Composite, mahogany and pressure-treated decks with flashed ledgers, footings below the frost line, and railings that pass inspection the first time.
Repointing, crown rebuilds, stainless liners and caps. Most chimney leaks are crown and flashing failures — we work both sides of that joint.
Seamless 5" and 6" runs formed on your driveway, pitched properly, hung on hidden hangers, and discharged away from the foundation.
Steps, stoops, walkways, patios, retaining walls and repointing — set on a compacted base below the frost line so they don't move in February.
Vinyl, fiber cement and cedar over a taped weather barrier with real flashing at every window, door and roof-to-wall transition.
Active leak after a nor'easter? We tarp within 24 hours, document the damage with dated photos for your insurance adjuster, and schedule the permanent repair. No emergency surcharge — we just fix it.
Same process, every trade
A gutter repair and a full exterior rebuild get the same paperwork, the same crew standards, and the same clean-up.
We go up, go under, and go in the attic. You get the photos — including whatever we find that you didn't call us about.
Line by line: materials, labor, disposal, permits, and fixed pricing for the surprises we can predict — like rotted decking.
We pull the town permits, order material to your address, protect landscaping, and confirm a start date in writing.
Crew on site by 7am. Magnetic nail sweep, dumpster hauled, and a walkthrough with you before the final invoice.
Doing more than one
Certain trades belong together. The staging is already up, the dumpster is already in the driveway, and the flashing details can be built as one continuous system instead of two contractors' guesses.
Before you call
Not at all. Plenty of our work is a single gutter run or one set of front steps. We'll tell you honestly if bundling saves you money — and equally honestly when it doesn't. A masonry walkway has nothing to do with your roof, so there's no reason to package them.
Yes, and we do it on every job that requires one — roofs, decks, structural masonry. We pull the permit, meet the inspector, and close it out. Homeowners often discover an open or missing permit from a past contractor only when they try to sell. That doesn't happen with our work.
Estimates are typically booked within two business days across Nassau and Suffolk. If you have an active leak, call the office and we'll get a tarp on it within 24 hours — the estimate can follow.
We work with third-party lenders that specialize in home exterior projects, with terms that range from short no-interest windows to longer fixed-rate plans. We'll show you the actual numbers alongside the estimate. We don't mark up financing or use it to disguise the price of the job.
Every job carries the manufacturer's coverage on the materials we install, and the terms are spelled out on your estimate before you sign — never vaguely promised on the phone.
Roof replacement, by a wide margin — most of the island's housing stock is now at the age where the original or second roof is due. After that it's gutters, chimney flashing repairs following a leak, and siding on homes near the water where salt air has taken its toll.
